The following timeline is a rough estimate of how long the design and printing process takes for most small business corporate identity projects. Your timeline may vary according to:
Because the small business corporate identity package is heavily discounted
to make it affordable for self-employed professionals, a faster turnaround
than indicated below is generally not available. If this is a concern, please
bring it up so that we may work together to find a solution.
Total time for the design phases listed at right ranges from approximately three to five weeks. |
Initial concepts - will be provided within one to one and a half weeks of the delivery of the signed agreement to Stellar Communications. Concept edit rounds - Most clients go through two to four editing rounds before we reach a final concept. This part of the process can take a week or so depending upon how fast your feedback is provided as well as Stellar Communications' current workload. Edits are expected and welcome! Logo files - Electronic logo files (and instructions for their use) are typically provided within one to two business days of the approval of the final logo concept. Business cards - The initial business card concept(s) is/are provided within three business days once the logo is finalized. Most clients have one to two rounds of edits on the business cards, with this edit round period typically lasting less than a week. Letterhead, envelope, labels, and note cards (if
applicable) - The remaining stationery concepts to be prepared for
printing (not electronic documents) are provided within three business
days of the approval of the business card concept. We do these items
separately because the design of these items is typically driven by
the business card concept. Most clients have 1 round of edits on these
items, with this edit round period lasting less than a week. |
Printing typically takes |
Files sent to press - Once final concepts for business cards, letterhead, envelopes and note cards have been approved, electronic files are immediately prepared for printing and are sent to the printer. Turnaround time at the Impressions Printing is typically less than one week and often 1 or 2 days. Turnaround time may be slower if your job is more complicated or if you require a press check. |
Electronic documents - 1 week or less |
Electronic stationery items - If you request these items, proofs are typically provided within one week after your printed pieces are sent to the printer. Most clients have one to two rounds of edits on these items, with this edit round period lasting less than a week. Once you approve the document(s), they are sent as MS Word files for your immediate use. |
