Financial Aid Saturdays: 
Volunteers rally to help students and their parents apply for college aid 

San Antonio pep rallyStudents who complete a financial aid application are more likely to go to college.  To boost financial aid application rates in the Dallas and San Antonio areas, volunteers in the Texas College Access Network (TxCAN) offered financial aid workshops on Saturdays to high school students and their parents. The pilot programs met with huge success.

Senior-Year Plan aims for college applications from 100 percent of GEAR UP/STAR grads

Own Your FutureClassroom lessons, a smartphone app, a senior-year checklist, monthly application instructions, and mascot costumes are just some of the tools being used in a pilot program to ensure that graduating GEAR UP/STAR seniors apply to college.
